1961 Ford Falcon Wagon Details

This is a 1961 Ford Falcon Wagon powered by a 302ci Ford. This is a fun cruiser than can be driven all over without any hassle. If the tiki paint isn’t your style, it can be removed.

This car has an early 302ci Ford engine with an Edelbrock carb and intake. It has a Mallory Unilite electric ignition. It also has a 12V alternator conversion with a newer alternator and battery. The engine does have a mild cam. The air flows out through the factory cast iron manifolds into a nice dual exhaust system. The transmission is a later model C4 3-speed automatic with an 8″ Ford rear with 3.42 gears. It also comes with a spare rear differential assembly with a 2.73 highway gear.

Much of the suspension on this car has been redone. It has recently had new upper control arms, lower control arms, and spring perches. The springs and shocks have been replaced. The rear has multi-leaf springs and a Mustang style sway bar. The brakes are Mustang front discs and rear drums with a recent dual circuit master cylinder. Most of the factory manual steering system has been replaced to stock. It sits on 5-lug 14″ steel wheels with newer 195/70/R14 Firestone tires.

This car has always been a solid, unrusted car. It has never had any extensive bodywork or patching. The previous owner purchased it because the body made a great starting platform for his idea. The black paint is only a couple of years old and it is in good condition and still has a nice gloss look. It has custom pinstriping that flows great with the surf theme. This can also be removed if needed. The body is straight, and all of the gaps line up nicely. All of the chrome trim on the outside is there and in good shape. The original rear bumper has a little more wear than the rest of the trim though. All of the glass is present and in good shape with no chips anywhere. There are stickers on the rear glass, but they can be easily removed.

The interior has been refinished in red and black. It has aftermarket bucket seats in the front that are black leather with red inserts. The rear seat is the original fold-down bench seat that has been recovered in black and red leather. It is fully functional. The rear seats have seatbelts and the fronts have buckles, but need the actual belt. The black carpet has been replaced from front to back, including the cargo area. The dash has the factory instrument cluster and also the original AM radio. It has also had a couple of extra gauges added on the steering column. An aftermarket stereo system has been installed with a CD changer and extra speakers in the rear. All of the interior trim is present and in nice condition. The windows all roll up and down easily, including the rear window. The door panels have been recovered in the black/red pattern. It has new door seals and there are no leaks or rattles. The headliner has been replaced to factory. It has a Hurst shifter with a custom shifter knob.

This car is a fun driver that is ready to drive today. It would make an awesome surf wagon or daily driver. This is a good driving car that starts right up and drives straight down the road. The brakes stop it easily with no wobbling or squealing. This car could easily be your next grocery getter, surf wagon, or daily driver.
