The engine in this car is thought to be the original “Blue-Flame 125″engine which is a 125 horsepower inline 6-cylinder with hydraulic lifters and hi-lift cams. It has the correct date code and also the engine number (T54Y) decodes as the “Blue-Flame 125″ with powerglide transmission built in the Tonawanda plant. It has the rare 2-speed automatic Powerglide transmission with a 3.55 rear axle ratio. The car is stopped by the factory 11″ hydraulic drum brakes.

This car is Surf Green with a white top. The paint is a quick, older paint job. There are 2 flakes in the paint about the size of a quarter and a couple of small chips. There are also a couple of small runs in the paint. The driver’s front fender has been repainted since the rest of the car, and the paint was not blended properly. There is a little bit of rust starting to form on this car, but it is still solid. Most of the rust is on the lower, outside parts of the doors and a little bit just under the door edges. Both doors still close properly though. The chrome on this car is all straight and present, but a couple of pieces are oxidized or rusted heavily. There is a crack in the windshield but doesn’t obstruct your view at all. The car also has skirts for the rear wheel wells. This isn’t a show car, but it would make a fun driver or a good candidate for a body restoration. It has the factory 15” wheels with new tires on the front. We have 3 out of 4 hubcaps and are looking for another to go on the car.

The interior appears to be all original. It is white vinyl with blue cloth inserts. They are still very solid and springy. The driver’s side has a little wear in the seat bottom but the rest look very nice. The lower parts of the door panels are beginning to separate from the door. The dash is painted the original blue/green color. All of the gauges are present along with the original chrome glove box door. The original radio has been removed from the car. The factory headliner and visors are still present and in nice condition. All of the window handles and door handles are present except one rear window handle. They are in decent condition with some light pitting. All of the windows roll up and down easily.

This car is a fun driver. It cranks right up and accelerates smoothly and shifts very well. There are no weird noises coming from anywhere. Even without power steering, this car turns easily. This car would make a great driver, it could easily be driven daily. It would also make a great candidate for someone who wants to restore a car and doesn’t want to have to do any mechanical work. The body is a great starting platform for restoration. There are many different avenues that could be taken with this car. It all depends on what you want to make out of it. Overall, it is a fun driver that will surprise you with how well it runs and drives.
